TIE-DALLAS-2022-RECAP-MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT

Hello everyone,

Hope all are well. As the year draws to a close, wanted to share some updates and thoughts

First of all, here is the link to the coverage of the recently concluded TiECON Dallas 2022 for those that were able to attend as well as those that missed what turned out to be a very well received event.

We have had a good year across the board in our programs that culminated with the TiECON. We held sessions for TYE, TiE University, and TiE Women, and in the process mentored and coached several teams. We held pitch events, with the local winners representing Dallas at Global finals. We conducted sessions for TiE Dallas Angels, consummating several deals, and we held happy hour socials and golf outings.

As I wrap up my term as President at the end of the year, wanted to reflect on what has been a great, humbling and gratifying journey championing TiE Dallas’s mission – to identify, nurture and grow entrepreneurs aggressively in the DFW metroplex. We grew significantly over the last few years and made TiE a key component of the entrepreneurial ecosystem here in Dallas. Additional information is at the TiE Dallas site , and in this quick recap.

Specifically, we:

1. Established flagship programs – TYE (founded it in 2012, it has graduated 300+ kids over the years, and we conducted the Global finals in 2022), TiE U (is in its 3rd year, with a winner at Global in 2021, SURVIVR having got acquired), TiE Women (in 3rd year as well) and an active TiE Dallas Angels program TDA (with multiple six figure deals done); we mentored several individuals and startups in the process..
2. Have grown our charter membership base to close to 50.
3. Established the TiE Dallas brand locally and globally through active engagement with other TiE chapters in the US, India and around the globe, with other local organizations, at events such as TGS, TiECONs, CM retreats and through philanthropic initiatives and socials.
4. Solidified a process-driven governance model and empowered the next generation of young leaders to build on the success achieved thus far.
5. Held a conference in 2019 and TiECON Dallas in 2022 around the themes of ‘What makes Dallas and Texas attractive to entrepreneurs, businesses, and investors’

I have full faith and confidence in the highly talented new leadership coming in to take TiE Dallas to even greater heights, as I hand over the reins to my successor Roshan Vani. I trust that you will give him and his team the same generosity and support that you have to me over the years. As I sign off, I would like to once again take a moment to express my gratitude for the warmth, friendship and learning I have received from so many individuals over the years. I look forward to staying in touch, wherever our paths may lead us. I also want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season, good health and cheer and a happy new year in advance.

Yours truly

Ram Viswanathan
President, TiE Dallas
