Sangeetha Duraisamy – Founder & CEO of Cubby

Sangeetha is a travel enthusiast whose personal struggles with lugging and love for traveling inspired her to start Cubby. Cubby is an on-demand luggage storage marketplace, revolutionizing the storage world by giving you flexibility on when and where you want to store your luggage even if it’s just one bag.

Cubby helps their customers not just store their luggage safely, but also at an affordable price. Hence, the traditional concept of storage is expensive and not easily accessible is shattered.

Cubby has partners across the city whose unused space is used to store the traveler’s luggage. So, the days when you have to decide between lugging bags or heading to the airport after checkout from a vacation rental or hotel, are long gone. Cubby will be your travel companion!

Cubby was born in the summer of 2019 in Dallas Fort Worth. After the overwhelming response at these cities, Cubby was expanded to not just the major cities in Texas but also across the nation. Today, Cubby is across 12 cities in the country with 70+ partner locations. Cubby is a testimony to the saying:” Big things often have small beginnings”.

All this started when she was looking for a luggage-free vacation picture and couldn’t find the perfect one because her luggage had photobombed all of them. Diving deep into it, she found that they had to drag the bag along because they couldn’t find a storage space for a few hours before catching their flight. More research was brought to light that this problem was faced by most travelers, whether it is leisure or business. This problem has become more prevalent after vacation rentals came into the picture. Their checkout policy at 11am left travelers stranded with their luggage. Cubby solves this problem and provides safe, convenient, and affordable storage near you!

We at TiE Dallas had an opportunity to have a conversation with Sangeetha about her experience!

TiE Dallas – What would you like to share with entrepreneurs?  

“As entrepreneurs, we are among those who decide to build something from scratch. We have so much courage and strength, so when things don’t go our way, we remember why and how we started it all in the first place. This will give the extra push one needs, to keep going. Along the way, we don’t forget to enjoy and have fun!”

TiE Dallas – What would you like to share with Investors?

“We are looking for investors to not just invest in Cubby but also bring their vast experience and knowledge along with it. Currently, we are looking for seed funding for $100K. If you’re looking to invest in a company, which is shaking up the travel industry, look no further.”

TiE Dallas – What has been the role of TiE in your journey and in the life of Cubby? 

“I had the chance of competing in TiE Dallas Women’s competition 2020. It was one of the most memorable events where I had the chance to meet not just fellow entrepreneurs but also share and support each other. My journey at TiE Dallas has just started and I’m hoping to be able to make some great memories.”
